Day #100 - What Castles Made of Us
 - The day is here.  I have completed the project, and have dedicated my entire day to writing and recording this track.  Around 15 hours of work, and the lovely vocals of Ms. Sara Strand finalized the song.  Featuring a wealth of noises and notes, this concludes the “100 Audio Battle” journey.  Listen by clicking the arrow above, or download here. You will be redirected to Bandcamp, where you can download all 100 songs for free.

There’s a monster underneath your bed
Waiting to go straight for your neck
Sleeping through the nights left untouched, again
Will you find your way of this labyrinth

Run, run, run again

We can see what castles made of me, We Can see what castles made of you

Your love, feels like fictional rain
I know it tastes much better than pain, to me

We can see what castles made of me, We Can see what castles made of you

Day #99 - Reading (is a form of music)
 - Following a solo set with friends Leah Hannah King, Joel Van Dijk, and Alex Hughes late last year, we wondered back to the factory late on a Friday night to make this little gem.  Lost but not forgotten, I dug this up out of the archives and gave it zee little polish and Day #99 is complete.  Joined also by friends Lindsay Gamache and Lana Shea, we all took turns reading out of my father’s grade school book “Classical Myths That Live Today.”  What inspired this I will never tell, but rest assured we sure had a gas!  Using a the mopho and Peter Dyer’s german mistresses, you can listen and download by clicking the arrow above.

Day #98 - The Future
 - Nearing the end of the battle, this one came about quickly and with much fun.  Using loads of Mopho, the usual acoustic guitar, and some vocals; this one I shall revisit along the way.  Enjoy by clicking the arrow above, or download here.

It might be, a long time before it makes sense to our senses
Apologies, all around me covered in the weak spots you’ll see
I couldn’t know, what to do or say
To make a difference in the way you look into space
If I were you, I’d lay my head down
Cause in the future we’ll sleep along the streetlights

Day #97 - There is Only Hope in the Beginning
 - An eventful evening with friends resulted in much fatigue and sleepiness for Douglas on this day of sainthood.  However; I managed to work through my lack of sleep and energy by piecing together this little bit.  A hidden message is buried beneath the strange noises (thanks MOPHO!), and a personal-developement style mantra is repeated throughout.  Enjoy these noises, and messages, by clicking the arrow above or downloading here.

Day #94 - What to Call This Song
 - Today’s special treat came after a long session with friends Alex Hughes and Adam Havick (Hughes and Havick.)  After tracking a new song, we set up outside my Van Nuys studio space and wrote a song in some lawn chairs with pens, paper, and acoustic guitars.  We then set up in the studio space amongst the heat and ear fatigue, and recorded this in one pass with one mic to capture all the magic.  Co-writing in it’s rawest form.  Enjoy by clicking the arrow above, or download here.

Day #93 - Numbering Purple Scooters
 - Just got home from a gig and am feeling slightly off, but none the less there is work to be done!  With a little help from a new found friend and some 90’s assistance, this one came out quickly and is another little electro nugget to ring in your morning.  Enjoy and download by clicking the arrow above by the song title.  Godspeed!

Day #92 - Winky Face
 - Today I got a chance to make some music with my friend from PA and former school mate, Brian Labs.  With his National resonator guitar, we sat at the nearly the stroke of midnight and hammered out a few licks and from there he went to handle business.  I took the reigns, added some Melodica, out of tune Mandolin, and a cast of vocals to narrate his quest.  Enjoy this fun little theatrical piece known as “Winky Face.”  Listen by clicking the arrow above, or download here.
